If you’d like to gather the demographics of a city or county (or any other boundary like a postal/zip code or custom territory), you can easily show these via the Layers feature in PiinPoint.

Show Custom Shapes

First, upload a Layer for the shapes you want to build. Say you have a set of all the cities in Canada that you want to pull stats off of, such as "What's the Total Population for Mississauga?" or "What's the average income in Mississauga?" To upload your file as a Layer, select the Layers icon on the left side of your map, select + New Layer, and then select Upload Existing Dataset.

Upload Layer pop up menu

You will be prompted to upload a file by clicking the menu to search for a file on your device or you can drag and drop your file. The file type must be CSV, Excel, GeoJSON, Shapefile or TAB. The file size limit is 20 MB.

Choosing a file to upload as a layer

Once your file has uploaded, simply turn on the Layer to show the different boundaries. You can do this by opening the Layers menu and then toggling on your Layer. Click on the shape (i.e. Mississauga) to access the attributes you had from the original file, as well as a shape context menu for more options:

Pull City / County Level Summaries

At the top of the context menu you can do standard shape tasks like Build a Report or Export Customers. Pull a quick view on the area by clicking Show Demographics, or generate a full report by clicking Build a Report.
